Biomechanics and Running Analysis Assessment FAQs

What is a biomechanical assessment?

Biomechanics is about the way the body moves through space. Not everyone has the same biomechanics. The doctor will take a look at how your body moves through space and identify if there are areas that could be improved to make your movements more efficient and/or areas that are dysfunctional that should be addressed to decrease pain.

If the doctor identifies poor biomechanics, what is the next step?

It depends on what biomechanic insufficiencies are identified, but typically the doctor will prescribe a combination of exercises and manual therapy.

Can a biomechanical assessment help if I don’t have pain but just want to become a better athlete?

Yes! By increasing your efficiency of movement, you will be less tired  and be more explosive in your movements while playing your sport.
