Holistic Medicine

holistic balance in nature

Getting sick is inevitable. When it comes to your health, sicknesses can be physical, mental, or even spiritual in nature. Just as there are many forms of sicknesses out there, so to are there many forms of healing practices available to us. While most of us are familiar with allopathic approaches to healthcare such as with pharmaceutical drugs and surgeries, there lies another form of wisdom that can be found through a holistic approach to medicine. This means that every aspect of an individual is considered when determining their overall health and wellbeing.

Examples of Holistic Medicine

Treatments can vary greatly depending on the needs of each patient. In general, a holistic approach to medicine favors natural remedies over the more invasive interventions often found in its western counterpart.  But make no mistake – by no means does this make holistic medicines any less effective. Rather, it is often advised to seek these out alternative options first before taking more extreme measures. Here is a list of holistic practices you may want to implement into your plan for care:

* Chiropractic care

* Massage

* Yoga

* Herbal medicines

* Nutrition

* Laser

* Meditation

It’s important to remember that at the end of the day, you don’t need to limit yourself to either modality. Both approaches to medicine offer their own unique strengths, and blending them together will allow you to get the best of both worlds.
